Georgia woman killed Thanksgiving morning by her son, police say

The mother of five was fatally stabbed Thanksgiving morning by her son in her apartment, according to police. The suspect is currently in police custody, they say.

Police responded to a domestic violence call at an apartment complex in the southwest Atlanta suburb of Forsyth. When they arrived, they found a 47-year-old woman with multiple stab wounds and were notified she had died, according to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim’s son, identified by the police as Taiesha Braden, 45, was arrested in connection with the incident and is being held in the Gwinnett County jail.

The circumstances of the killing were unclear at this time, the police said, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. A motive for the stabbing was not released.

The Journal-Constitution reported that neighbors said the victim’s son was known to be violent.
