Joe Biden pushes young Americans to support his infrastructure plan

Former Vice President Joe Biden is currently leading the effort to implement President Obama’s executive actions on climate change. On Tuesday, he told young people in Cedar Rapids, Iowa that he sees “infrastructure, jobs, young people, and a race to see who is the boldest in the country on climate change.”

In a statement, the task force chairman, Maria Contreras-Sweet, highlighted that, “Michelle and I are confident that together, with Vice President Biden, we have the vision, the agenda, and the leadership to get the job done to save the planet and rebuild our communities.” In her statement, Contreras-Sweet also said that Biden “established a website designed to make it easy for the public to track progress, give input, and engage in the conversation about transforming America’s infrastructure.”

Near the end of his remarks in Cedar Rapids, Biden said that the foundation of his infrastructure plan included “infrastructure, jobs, young people, and a race to see who is the boldest in the country on climate change.” That declaration was echoed by the group’s spokesperson Valerie Jarrett, who told The New York Times, “We’re talking about infrastructure and jobs and a race to see who is the boldest and doing the best.”
