Henry Cavill’s dog has saved his mental health

Actor Henry Cavill revealed in an interview that his dog, Kal, has saved his mental health.

“I find that it’s a great way to reset, if you can. And he keeps me on the straight and narrow,” Cavill told Huffington Post.

He elaborated that while he had been troubled by suicidal thoughts for a long time, he hadn’t been up until being in costume.

“To go and put this on and walk away and go, ‘You know what? I’m OK. I’m in a moment here,’ and then listen to whatever music that I want to hear, and then listen to the story that’s being told to me,” Cavill said.

He added that he had problems finding people to talk to about suicidal thoughts.

“It’s incredibly lonely to say the least, and if you’re talking to someone who doesn’t know about your troubles, or has no idea, I think that that’s traumatic,” he said.

Cavill said his relationship with dogs has had a positive impact on his mental health as well.

“I find that dogs are amazing, there’s really nothing to it and they do absolutely nothing,” he said. “They just leave you alone, which I like in a relationship.”

Kal has been with Cavill, who plays Superman in the “Justice League” movies, since 2015, according to DailyMail.com.
